Capital University Head Coach
Dwight Burgess is Head Coach of men’s and women’s soccer at Capital University, having previously served as the Head Assistant Coach and Recruiting Coordinator for Ohio State.
Under Burgess both teams earned the National Team Academic Award and 100% of the four year letter-winners have graduated. On the field each team has appeared in the Great Lakes Region top ten and the women’s side was 2004 OAC Champion. Burgess was named 2005 OAC Coach of the Year.
Burgess played for Ohio power house Centerville High School and split his collegiate career between DePauw University and the University of Dayton earning state, regional and national recognition. Burgess was twice selected to training camps for the United States National Program and named captain for a pair of regional all-star teams scoring two goals in international matches.
Burgess is also the TV/radio play-by-play voice of the Major League Soccer’s Columbus Crew.
