Located in Pickerington, Ohio, PASA Select Soccer was formed in the 70s for the sole purpose of providing children an opportunity to play, learn and enjoy the sport of soccer in the Pickerington Community. Through the years, hundreds of dedicated volunteers have kept that vision alive by sharing their time, effort and talent by developing outstanding facilities and supporting the soccer program for the entire community.

“We are very excited to welcome PASA into our Crew Juniors family,” said Andrew Arthurs, Senior VP of Soccer Business Development and Crew Juniors Executive Director. “We all strongly believe that this is a great opportunity to bring the community together from a soccer perspective.  Crew Juniors Pickerington will provide top-quality and comprehensive programming to local families, and as those players develop and are ready for higher levels, they will be part of a model that doesn’t have ceilings." 

With the partnership, Crew Juniors continues to expand its community based programming and will field boys and girls teams ranging from U9 to U18.  As with all levels of the Crew Youth system, Crew Juniors Pickerington coaches will benefit from the unique Crew-developed and branded coaching curriculum, in addition to a strong and consistent commitment to continuing education.

Josh Racette will serve as Crew Juniors Pickerington Director of Coaching.  “I am very excited for the future of youth soccer in and around the Pickerington area.  Combining the resources of the Columbus Crew with the 40 year history and tradition of the Pickerington Area Soccer Association will provide an unparalleled level of opportunities for players and coaches.”

According to PASA President, Rex Droese, “the partnership between The Pickerington Area Soccer Association and The Columbus Crew is a huge step in the future development of competitive soccer in Pickerington and surrounding areas. With our combined resources we will be able to offer a unified, community-based and forward-thinking club that focuses on developing area youth into top-notch soccer players, as well as outstanding young men and women throughout our great community.”

Head Coach Glen Tourville has been with the team since U11.

"When they were younger, there were other teams that were bigger, stronger, more athletic and we’d make mistakes and give the ball away and other teams would score and we didn’t always win, but we always outplayed a lot of our opponents," Coach Tourville said. "Now we’re turning that quality possession and ability to outplay our opponents into results too, so we were able to have a very convincing run in state cup."

The final score of the game was 4-1, but was much closer than the scoreboard represents. The Crew had chances throughout the game including several breakaways that were just unable to go in the back of the net.

The team is optimistic looking forward, setting new goals and proud of the type of soccer they are playing.

"It’s the style of play our girls are committed to... We possess as much as we can and we try to play the game properly," said Coach Tourville. "We are the only team I have seen in the state that when we win the ball, we will make three to ten passes every time."

Tourville had nothing but positive words to say about the team’s success.

 "It’s rewarding to see a team that has put in the effort to get something tangible from that commitment to soccer excellence." 

Based out of Three Creeks Park on Spangler Road, this program will serve the Pickerington, Bexley, Reynoldsburg, Canal Winchester and surrounding communities.
